We are pleased to announce the grand opening of Kifu-no-Sato’s new guest rooms, “Wabisuke” and “Syakunage,” on August 1. These semi-suite rooms are designed for a small number of guests to relax in a spacious room.
Each room is designed to be barrier-free, with no steps on either side, and each room is decorated with artwork by a contemporary artist. The Wabisuke room features a camellia scroll by Ryo Shinagawa, who continues to explore new possibilities in Japanese painting by incorporating modernity into his work. In “Syakunage,” Kazuya Hashimoto’s Bizen Pottery, with its sophisticated and eye-catching form, has been installed.

About “Syakunage
This is a new Western-style semi-suite proposed by Kifu no Sato, a Japanese-style inn. The plaster-finished walls are wrapped in a space that gives a sense of security and serenity, as if you were in the earth. The space is composed with an awareness of straight lines, and furniture such as Time & Style chairs designed by Takushi Nakamura adds a modern feel. While using traditional Japanese materials and styles, such as granite, the space is also contemporary in its design, reflecting contemporary lifestyles.
